Frequently asked questions

Whether you are an experienced traveller or are considering your first small-group tour, we’ve put together some of the most common questions we get asked about our tours from Bath. If you have any further questions which aren’t answered here, find out how to contact us.

Booking and payment

Do you keep a waitlist?

We do not keep a waitlist for sold-out tours, as they are too difficult to manage. We receive many last-minute requests and recommend booking in advance to secure your place.

Can I change the date of my tour booking?

We frequently get requests to change dates and will accommodate this if there is availability on your requested new date. If there is no space, we will suggest a refund so you can rebook if a suitable date becomes available.

Do you offer discounts?

We are unable to offer discounts at this time.

Tour logistics

Do your tours depart from anywhere other than Bath?

Our tours only depart from Bath. However, if you are on our Stonehenge tour, it is possible to meet the mini-coach at Stonehenge at 9:20 am if you arrange your own transport there.

What time do I need to be at the meeting point?

Please plan to arrive at the meeting point by 8:15 am. It is important to allow for potential delays with traffic or public transport, as we are unable to wait for guests who are late.

What time does the tour return to Bath?

The tour is scheduled to return to the original departure point at approximately 5:30 pm. We do our best to keep to this time, but it can be affected by traffic.

Can I bring luggage with me on the tour?

We can store a small amount of luggage, such as two large suitcases, but this cannot be guaranteed. One of our mini-coaches has no boot, and priority for storage space will always be given to essential items like a wheelchair. As a backup, we suggest looking into Safe Storage, which is located near the train station.

I suffer from motion sickness. Can I reserve a seat at the front?

This is a very common request. We will make a note of your request and do what we can to help, but we cannot reserve or guarantee specific seats. We advise guests who require a front seat to arrive early to help facilitate this.

On the tour

Is lunch included in the price?

No, we do not include lunch or food. This is because guests have a wide variety of dietary needs we cannot cater for. Your guide can point you toward a number of options at the lunch stop, but if you have specific allergies or requirements, we recommend bringing your own food.

How do I pay for Stonehenge entrance tickets?

You will pay for your Stonehenge entrance ticket directly to your guide by card. While our guides may be able to accept cash at a push, we emphasise card payments for ease. The ticket price is set by English Heritage, but we receive a slightly better price for our guests as part of a group booking.

Can I leave the tour early to stay in the Cotswolds?

This depends on where you are staying, as it is often not near our tour stops. We generally advise guests to complete the tour back to Bath and then use public transport links to get to their accommodation in the Cotswolds.

Will I get free time to explore?

You won't just see everything flashing past your window. We want you to explore for yourselves and we give you enough time at each major site to really experience the places you visit. The time spent off and on the bus is roughly equal on all tours.

Do I tip the driver-guide?

It is the custom in England to tip the driver guide, but only if you have really enjoyed the tour.

General policies

What is your policy on travelling with children?

We cannot accommodate children younger than 7 years old on our tours.

Do you offer private tours from London?

No, this is not a service we offer. We receive many requests for private tours from various locations that are not suitable for our company.

What is the cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is flexible, but should you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. To receive a refund for one of our day tours please cancel at least 24 hours before your departure. For our full cancellation policy, please take a look at our Terms and Conditions.

Suitability and accessibility

What sort of people come on the tour?

All ages and nationalities, mainly people who are visiting England and traveling independently.

My English is not very good, would I enjoy the tour?

These tours are about seeing amazing places and exploring them, whatever your language. We do have plenty of written notes in the bus on the Stonehenge tours which may be of help. Also at Stonehenge you can get personal audio commentaries in various languages.

I am not very mobile, is there a lot of walking?

Our tours are extremely flexible, you can do as much or as little as you want. Because we only use small minicoaches we take you as close as possible to the sites. If you have serious mobility problems we can arrange to collect you from wherever you may be staying in Bath. We do have limited storage space in the minicoach so we can accommodate foldaway wheelchairs.
