All ages and nationalities, mainly people who are visiting England and traveling independently.
My English isn't very good, would I enjoy the tour?
These tours are about seeing amazing places and exploring them, whatever your language. We do have plenty of written notes in the bus on the Stonehenge tours which may be of help. Also at Stonehenge you can get personal audio commentaries in various languages.
Are these tours suitable for children?
Unfortunately we are unable take children who are 3 years or under on our scheduled tours. However, if you are planning a private tour or transport with us we can accomodate younger children.
I'm not very mobile, is there a lot of walking?
Our tours are extremely flexible, you can do as much or as little as you want. Because we only use small minicoaches we take you as close as possible to the sites. If you have serious mobility problems we can arrange to collect you from wherever you may be staying in Bath . We do have limited storage space in the minicoach so we can accommodate foldaway wheelchairs.
Are there other ways I can see these places?
Why don't I do this from London?
If you do you'll miss out on the joy of travelling to Bath by train. It's a quick and straightforward journey and you'll see some lovely countryside. Also Bath is too beautiful to miss. If you can, try and stay for at least one night in this stunning world heritage city (in fact you see it at its best early in the morning and after the crowds have gone in the evening). Also if you do our tour from Bath you'll find it's less than half the price of doing a similar tour from London !
Is it possible to join your tours from somewhere other than Bath?
On our Cotswold tour it is possible to collect guests from Tetbury. On our Stonehenge tours it may be possible to collect you from Stonehenge and drop you off in Bath (if you are coming from Salisbury). We do also collect from country hotels if they are en route, so please e mail us and we will do all we can to help you with this.
Can I see these places by public transport?
It would be hard to get to all the places we go to by public transport. Timetables are complicated and rural bus services are infrequent. You would also find it impossible to fit our itinerary into one day ,as well as being unable to go to the more out of the way rural places. By travelling with us you can relax, meet fellow travellers, save money and have access to all the knowledge of our guides.
About the Tours
Can you pick us up from our hotel?
Due to the severe congestion in the centre of Bath we do not collect from individual guesthouses and hotels. However our meeting point is very central and within easy walking distance of many places to stay. If you have mobility problems please tell us and we can make special arrangements to help.
Will I have time for shopping?
If you want to shop there wll be places on the tour to do so. Our guides know where to find most things and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. We do not take any commission from any outlets.
What about lunch?
There are a variety of places to eat and we are sure you'll find something to meet your requirements. Also feel free to bring a packed lunch if that is more suitable for you (although we request that you do not consume food on the bus). On our full day Stonehenge tour we stop at Lacock village which has a selection of historical pubs, a café and a bakery. On the Cotswold tour we stop at Burford, a medieval town where there is a selection of cafes and pubs to choose from. The cost of lunch is not included in the price of the tour.
Do we just drive past the sites or will we have time to get out and explore?
You won't just see everything flashing past your window. We want you to explore for yourselves and we give you enough time at each major site to really experience the places you visit. The time spent off and on the bus is roughly equal on all tours.
What should I bring with me on the tour?
Apart from a camera and payment we suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing wet weather clothing just in case (there is no such thing as 'bad weather', just inappropriate clothing!) If the weather is hot it's good to carry a bottle of water. In the winter there can be a chilly wind at Stonehenge so hats and scarves can be useful too.
Can we bring luggage or a buggy/stroller?
This is possible, but space is limited so please let us know when you book.
Will I see crop circles?
We do sometimes see crop circles, mainly on our tours which visit Stonehenge. We can't guarantee this, but they are usually predominant around July and August.
Do your tours operate all year round?
Yes, we keep on running through summer and winter, with our full day Stonehenge tour usually running 7 days a week (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day (25th & 26th December), New Year's Eve and New Years Day.
How should I book?
It really is quickest and easiest to book and pay on line using the form on our home page. However you can contact our office by phone on 0044 (0) 7990 505970 (between 8am and 6pm).
If I send you an E mail when can I expect a reply?
We try to reply to all emails within 48 hours. If you haven't had a response, do try again as occasionally messages get blocked by virus checkers. If you still do not hear from us please check your junk / spam folder first, then call the office. If you have a general enquiry that hasn't been covered on our web pages, just Email firstname.lastname@example.org. It is really helpful if you use the reply function when contacting us for a second time so that we can efficiently follow the thread of our correspondance.
How do I know I've definitely got a place?
You will always be sent a confirmation email. It is advisable to print this off and bring it with you.
What if I make a booking but my travel plans change?
Just phone the booking office if it's last minute or send us an E mail. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know as we are a small company.
What if I make a booking but my travel plans change?
Yes we do offer discounts for groups of 10 or more. The level of discount depends on the size of the group, time of year and whether you require a private tour. Just contact us using the group booking form and we'll let you know how we can help.
Do you offer discounts to individuals?
Children who are 12 years old or less travel for half price. Children who are 5 years and under travel for £5 . Unfortunately we don't offer other discounts to seniors or students.
Are there any ATM's on the tour?
There are ATM's approximately 1 minute from the meeting point if you require cash for the day. However, there are no machines during the Stonehenge full day tour and the Avebury and villages shorter tour.
Do I tip the driver guide?
It is the custom in England to tip the driver guide, but only if you have really enjoyed the tour.
